Well, actually, it’s her Den of i-KNIT-quity that’s getting a facelift; the other is wishful thinking. If you are reading this message, you probably followed a link here. Unfortunately, you are still on the old – ouch! make that former – site. The url for the new site will actually be the same: http://foxygknits.com, but I am upgrading to a different hosting site with many more options. This is probably TMI, but I don’t want us to get separated. If you click on the link above, you will be on the new site. By Thursday evening, your link will magically take you to the new site – seamlessly. Until then you can reach me here at https://foxygknits.wordpress.com.
If you have any questions or this sounds like a foreign language, please leave me a message, and I will be back in touch.
Thanks for your patience, Foxy G.
Meet Theresa of TiLT creations, featured EtsyBlogger of the Month. Theresa makes one-of-a-kind handbags and accessories in various sizes and styles. Some bag styles are only made once, while others are made again in different sizes, with different fabrics or embellishments.

One of their recent charities was HeroBox, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides custom support to our heroes overseas. Their mission is to provide items that deployed American soldiers need and want while they are away from home defending our freedom. A HeroBox is a care package that has been customized to a soldier’s specific request. Theresa donated the following handbag to the cause:

Edi is the paper artist behind memoriesforlifesb and the featured Etsy Blogger for August. She gets a lot of her inspiration and ideas from reading from advertisements for layout designs and from junk mail for color combos and unique folding techniques. Edi explained with a smile, “I can see something someone else has made and then visualize how I can make it – but better and with my own unique touch!”

Edi has been paper crafting for more than 12 years. She started out creating handmade cards with stamps and then moved into scrapbooking. She loves anything to do with paper and can make just about anything with it.

In addition to paper crafting, which is Edi’s passion, she is employed as a machine operator at a semi transmission factory and is working on her MBA. When asked if she had a plan to combine her MBA with her paper crafting, she replied, “I would love nothing more than to run a paper crafting business full time. Even if this were not to happen, there are many things I am learning from my schooling – most importantly, time management. Working full time, going to school full time and running my Etsy shop really helps me prioritize and manage my time.”
Now, can you guess what the “sb” stands for in her shop name?

Amanda Roberts, of GeekDetails.etsy.com, is a very creative artist. She makes a variety of handmade items that are all geeky in nature. She has everything from pinback buttons to handpainted dishware to specimens from her favorite books. She is constantly rolling out new products based on her favorite geeky pastimes. Her store inventory is a reflection of what she’s into at the moment. And it’s all wonderful geeky goodness!! But you don’t have to be a geek to enjoy her work. It’s all very fun and sometimes whimsical. Her buttons are quite witty!

To learn a little about miesmama as the Featured Etsy Blogger of the month, I went to her blog bio. It was there that I learned that her favorite movies include Amelie, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and Kurosawa’s Dream. Not being familiar with any of them, I headed straight to Netflix to do a little research. And lo and behold, the movies had something in common – they were quirky and imaginative, imaginative and mind-bending, mind-bending and cerebral, feel good and romantic! So, I headed to miesmama’s etsy shop where I learned that she loves to be creative. Said she, “I knit, quilt and daydream. Anything to do with textiles inspires me and makes me happy.” And her lovely felted items will make YOU happy as well. Here is but a sampling:
Purple Coneflower Sweater Tote
Green Algae Pincushion
Fireman Bear Tooth Fairy Pillow
On Monday, June 22, Etsy Item of the Day did a thoughtful feature on the Pay it Forward (PIF) Section of Foxy G. Knits. PIF items are those offered by etsy sellers for just the listing fee or for a fraction of their actual worth. The idea is that those who purchase these items will do something nice for someone else or list a PIF item in their own shop if they are on etsy.
I am honored that Etsy Item of the Day chose to highlight Foxy G. Knits. We were heartened by the positive response to the concept of paying it forward. And there were those readers that did not know about PIF or for what the initials stood until reading the article. Hopefully, it will encourage etsy sellers to consider listing PIF items in their shops.
